The vacuum desoldering system works well and is fantastic for repair work on through-hole boards. I'm also including a simple spring tool I built to help keep the desoldering tip clear - when it gets plugged with solder slowly insert into holding needle nose pliers, not my fingers. If you make sure to let the vacuum run an extra second or two until all solder passes through tip this isn't necessary very often. Overall, its had plenty of miles put on it, but it has helped me repair lots and what would otherwise be electronic junk.

Everything works, but the pencil iron temperature channel has to be turned up higher than desoldering achieve same tip temperature, so needs calibration at least. And let it melt the solder clear tip channel. This is a used Xy-tronic supertech 999SD soldering and vacuum desoldering setup. The package also includes a brand new pencil iron with tip P/N Siam 60cr t. , that has never been used - except to verify it works.

Includes a dual tool wire stand with good sponge. The included operating manual copy appears to have full schematics, but I haven't tried diagnose issue - although it use op-amps and pots not a micro which is probably good news in this case: mounted tips are well worn, some life left. There is one spare desoldering tip that also pretty worn, but included just in case it useful.
